Certain foreign nationals, who are eligible to operate in the United States, utilize Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, to request approval to work. When working with workers, U.S. companies must request evidence of the worker's right to work.

U.S. residents and lawful permanent citizens (green card holders) might work without requesting unique authorization.
